EXHIBIT "A" <br /> , SCOPE OF SERVICES. TIME AND FEE SCHEDULES <br /> Massachusetts Avenue Crosswalk Beacon System at Arizona Way Project <br /> Design Scope of Work <br /> PROJECT DESCRIPTION: <br /> Consultant shall provide design and engineering services for the Massachusetts Avenue Crosswalk <br /> Beacon System at Arizona Way Project. The objectives of the Massachusetts Avenue Crosswalk <br /> Beacon System at Arizona Way ProJect are to install a rectangular repid flashing beacon system at the <br /> crosswalk crossing Massachusetts, as well as sidewalk, curb, and remp design adjacent to the crosswalk <br /> location. The project area is defined as the intersection for Massachusetts Avenue and Arizona Way. <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICES: <br /> Design services will include preparetion of plans, the technical provisions of the specifications, and <br /> engineer's opinion of probable construdion costs (estimate) for the instaliation of the crosswalk system <br /> as well as sidewalk, curb, and ramp design adjacent to the crosswalk location on Massachusetts Avenue <br /> atArizona Way. <br /> Design components shall include the following: <br /> • The illuminated crosswalk will be solar powered. If the City determines that a <br /> PG&E serviced installation is preferred prior to the start of design, KHA will provide this Type of <br /> design, and <br /> • Three (two sided) rectangular repid flashing beacon displays w/corresponding signs will be <br /> installed (one at each roadway edge and one in a new center median), and <br /> • A drainage inlet currently located on the south side of Massachusetts Avenue will be relocated <br /> as part of the new sidewalk bulb-out design, and <br /> • The new raised median will be designed to include additional reflectors to minimize motorists <br /> hitting the median during night operetions, and <br /> • Both pedestrian curb ramps adjacent to the new crosswalk will be designed to current ADA <br /> standards as well as the curb ramp at the southwest corner of the Massachusetts Avenue and <br /> Arizona Way intersec[ion used by pedestrians crossing Arizona <br /> Way will be redesigned to current ADA standards as part of the sidewalk bulb-out, and <br /> • The striping and pavement marking will be updated, as necessary, based on the new sign and <br /> curb installations, and <br /> • The new luminaire will be a cobra head type per the City of Redwood City standard E3, "Street <br /> Light (Single)". <br /> TASK 1—DATA COLLECTION <br /> Consultant shall: <br /> 1. Coordinate with the City of Redwood City to discuss the requirements of the project and to collect <br /> any data available (specifications, vendor type, as-built plans, aerials, utility contacts, etc.) for the <br /> design. <br /> 2.
