Habitat will be required to market first to and give preference to families with a <br />bona fide wheelchair user family member for the two units that are built in <br />compliance the Federal Uniform Accessibility Standards specifically for <br />wheelchair users. <br />Habitat will be required to give preference to families with a hearing or sight <br />seeing impaired family members for the one unit that is built in compliance with <br />the Federal Uniform Accessibility Standards for people who are hearing or sight <br />impaired. <br />Habitat shall coordinate its efforts for the outreach and recruitment of qualified <br />families with disabilities with San Mateo county's New Beginnings Coalition and <br />other similar organizations serving persons with disabilities. The city's Housing <br />Coordinator .shall provide contact information for the coalition and other <br />organizations. <br />5. Non - Discrimination <br />Habitat shall comply with the non - discrimination requirements described below: <br />Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 <br />(1) Pursuant to section 514 (Public Law 93 -112), Habitat agrees that no <br />otherwise qualified persons with disabilities shall, solely by reason of a disability, <br />be excluded from the participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to <br />discrimination in the performance of this contract or in the selection of low <br />income owners to purchase the dwelling to be built on the "Property." <br />(2) compliance of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, <br />as amended, requires that all benefits, aids and services are made available to <br />persons with disabilities on an equivalent basis with those received by non - <br />disabled persons. contractor shall agree to .be in compliance with section 504 <br />requirements by developing a plan for compliance to be submitted to the section <br />504 coordinator as soon as possible. <br />0.
