City Council Member(s) Report(s) of Conference/Meeting Attendance <br /> Mayor Aguirre reported that she had appointed Council Members Bain <br /> and Seybert to an Ad Hoc Committee to review the current Boards, <br /> Commissions and Committees application. City Council Members Oral Reports of Conferences/Meetings Attended <br /> Council Member Bain attended the County Emergency Services meeting and spoke <br /> about the status quo budget that agency is planning to adopt. In addition, they are <br /> considering a reserve policy. <br /> Vice Mayor Gee reminded everyone that the Redwood Shores Community Association <br /> is having their annual meeting on Wed. the 8 Also, he wanted to thank everyone for <br /> attending the New Year Lunar celebration and can't wait for next year's celebration. <br /> In response, Council Member Seybert thanked Gee for his work on the event and said <br /> that the event was a success. <br /> Council Member Pierce was at the C/CAG Congestion Management and Environmental <br /> Quality meeting. They addressed the plastic bags ban and the County will be doing a <br /> county-wide Environmental Impact Report on this topic. Also, the Bair Island Aquatic <br /> Center would be offering an array of classes such as How to Row. Lastly, the Library <br /> Foundation would be doing a fundraiser for the Fair Oaks Library collection — We love <br /> book Worms- and the event will be held this Thursday evening. Anyone can donate <br /> money to the library. <br /> Mayor Aguirre appointed a new Ad Hoc committee to review BCC applications and the <br /> interview process, which would be done by Council Member Bain and Council Member <br /> Seybert. She thanked the community and the Fire Department for feeding volunteers <br /> and selling items to help support a family that lost everything. She said that the family <br /> was so active at Taft School that it was natural for the community to help them. Also, <br /> the Mayor thanked Vice Mayor Gee for the Lunar New Year event. Lastly, she reported <br /> that she and other mayors around the country were selected to attend the National <br /> Mayors' Institute on City Design at the University of Houston.
