6.1. B. - Page 2
3. Sanitary Sewer Basin No. 9– approximately bordered by EI Camino Real, Oak
Avenue, Vera Avenue and Hudson Street.
Advanced Sewer Technologies will clean the sanitary sewer mains and inspect the
pipelines using cameras to record visual data that will be used by staff to assess the
condition of each sewer main. The total CCTV inspection for this project is
approximately 65,335 lineal feet. In addition, manhole condition assessment will be
conducted to determine the integrity of the manholes. Staff will receive data including
inspection logs for pipes and manholes, full streaming videos, and observation codes
which classify the condition of the pipe segment. The data will be used to identify
sections of the sewer main in need of upgrade or replacement as part of the annual
program.
ALTERNATIVES
Council may choose not to enter the proposed agreement with Advanced Sewer
Technologies and direct staff to interview other qualified firms.
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for CCTV inspection services were previously appropriated as Sewer Fund
Capital Projects — CCTV Program, which has a balance of $146,238.78, as of February
29, 2012.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
As the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the actions proposed in
this report do not constitute a project as defined by the California Environmental Quality
Act (CEQA) as this project consists of inspecting existing wastewater collection
pipelines and will not involve any construction.
In addition, this project does not require a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
System (NPDES) General Permit for stormwater discharges associated with
construction and land disturbances activities pursuant to Attachment A.2 of Order 2010-
0014-DWQ.
_ --
JIMMY TAN, P.E.
SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER
 l
' `/
u
BILL EKERN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
