The following response to the Grand <br /> Jury's Findings and Conclusions was reviewed and approved by the City Council at its <br /> meeting on May 7, 2012. <br /> Analysis <br /> The City has reviewed the findings, conclusions and recommendations and believes the <br /> data analysis and methodology used was factual and sound. The City of Redwood City <br /> has already implemented the recommendations to cities and special fire districts in San <br /> Mateo County. <br /> Recommendations: <br /> 1. When assessing alternative approaches to local fire protection, CAL FIRE should <br /> be considered as one alternative. <br /> The City agrees with the findings and the recommendations have been <br /> implemented. San Mateo County has various types of fire service models <br /> consisting of city departments, joint power authorities, merged departments, <br /> contracted services as well as fire protection districts.
