Find other <br /> sites to purchase for teacher housing. <br /> <br />Priority#13: Housin~ Education Forum <br /> <br />· Assumption That staff will create and implement a housing education forum, to <br /> ensure that the community understands the issues of housing form and <br /> density, before moving to implement the Downtown Plan. <br /> <br />· Potential obstacles Need to develop a forum agenda and find someone to orchestrate the <br /> meeting, or series of meetings. <br /> <br />· Nexus This is already under way. The forum will occur in early May. <br /> <br />· Estimated initial cost This will depend on the number of sessions. May cost in the range <br /> $10,000-20,000. <br /> <br />· Ongoing costs None anticipated. <br /> thereafter <br /> <br />· Staffing/resource We are looking for someone who can design and implement these <br /> needs forums. Existing staff does not have the time, or the experience. <br /> <br />· Options/alternatives Do not hold a forum. <br /> <br /> Priority #14: Provide for public access - Bair Island <br /> <br />· Assumption This priority is to maintain access to the Bair Island area, consistent <br /> with the recently-adopted Council resolution. <br /> <br />· Potential Obstacles Environmental laws / regulations. <br /> <br />· Nexus Planning for the Blomquist extension has been underway for many <br /> years. Improved vehicular, pedestrian, and bicycle access has been a <br /> goal. <br /> <br />· Estimated initial cost To be borne by the US Fish & Wildlife Service. <br /> <br />· Ongoing costs To be borne by the US Fish & Wildlife Service. <br /> thereafter <br /> <br /> · Staff Resource Needs Shouldn't need additional staff to participate in the planning process <br /> ahead. <br /> <br /> · Options None that could easily and quickly provide access to the area. <br /> 9 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
