Habitat will be required to market first to and give preference to families with a bona fide wheelchair user family member for the two units that are built in compliance the Federal Uniform Accessibility Standards specifically for wheelchair users. Habitat will be required to give preference to families with a hearing or sight seeing impaired family members for the one unit that is built in compliance with the Federal Uniform Accessibility Standards for people who are hearing or sight impaired. Habitat shall coordinate its efforts for the outreach and recruitment of qualified families with disabilities with San Mateo County's New Beginnings Coalition and other similar organizations serving persons with disabilities. The City's Housing Coordinator.shall provide contact information for the Coalition and other organizations. 5. Non -Discrimination Habitat shall comply with the non-discrimination requirements described below: Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (1) Pursuant to Section 514 (Public Law 93-112), Habitat agrees that no otherwise qualified persons with disabilities shall, solely by reason of a disability, be excluded from the participation in, be denied benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination in the performance of this contract or in the selection of low income owners to purchase the dwelling to be built on the "Property." (2) Compliance of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, requires that all benefits, aids and services are made available to persons with disabilities on an equivalent basis with those received by non - disabled persons. Contractor shall agree to be in compliance with Section 504 requirements by developing a plan for compliance to be submitted to the Section 504 Coordinator as soon as possible. 6. Affirmative Action.
