With regard to Atmosphere and Climate, the City �s actively wark�ng <br /> with BAAQMD to praperly identify �ensitive receptors arrd mitigation measures. As discussed <br /> under the Natural Resources Element below, the City has adopted ar�d implemented a Green <br /> Building Ordinance, which recfuces building energy use and related greenhouse gas emissions. <br /> With regard to ffaoding hazards and stormwa#er improvements, a Redwood Creel� wafl repair <br /> project +s under design and approximately 75 percent complete. Multiple addit�onal <br /> implementatian measures are ongoing, as outlined in Attachment 2. <br /> Natural Resources Element <br /> AdoptYOn: October Z1, 2010 <br /> Amendments: <br /> Resolution 1505: Adoption af the New Genera! Plan (�ctaber 11, 2D10) <br /> Summary: The Natural Resources Element focuses an preserving, protecting, con5erving, re- <br /> using, and efficiently using RedwQod City's natural resources. The Natural Resvurces Element <br /> contains the following Chapters: Water ResaurcES, Energy Conser�ation, Natural Habitat and <br /> Open Space, and llrban Farest. <br /> One of the primary accomplishments with regarci to Natural Resources was the adoption and <br /> implementation of a Green Building Ordinar�ce. Redwood City's Green Suilding Ordinance <br /> {Redwood City Ordinance 2348) became effective May 2�1a and is currently being <br /> imple�nented. All new residential prajects m�ast demonstrate compliance with LEED or <br /> GreenPoint minimum standards. All new nonresidentia! projects and additions of 1,000 square <br /> feet or greater must submit a LEfD-NC checklist prepared by a LEED AP demonstrating that the <br /> project meets minimum level. in addition, the State af Ca[ifornia's �itle 24 Energy Code <br /> requirernents also came into ef�ect on lanuary 1, 2011. �Io building permits are issuec! to any <br /> applicable project in Redwaod City unless the applicatiort can demonstrate continued <br /> compliance with the California Buifding Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24, Part 6) af the <br /> California Building Cade. <br /> ia <br />
