7.C. - Page 14 Redwood City General Plan <br /> 20z1 Annual Report <br /> As discussed above, the primary aceomplishments related to zoning ehanges hav� been <br /> adoption of the Down�own Precise Pian and the Mixed Use Corridor Zoning Ordinance <br /> Amendments, and the draft af the propo5ed Mixed Use Neighborhood and �i�re/Work Zaning <br /> ardinance Amendments. The powntown Precise Plan establishes a contemporary �ision for th� <br /> Downtown and sets forth the speGific land use parameters, development standards, <br /> architectural guidelines, and urban design criteria in orcEer to create a unique and vi�rant <br /> downtown. Th�e innovative Downtown Precise Plan does not regulate density on a,�arcel basis, <br /> and therefore allows for significant flexibility for developers. I�eight limits in the Downtown <br /> Precise Plan range from three stories to 12 stories. Rt is estimated that the Downtown Precise <br /> Plan will provide an additipnal 2,500 additional housing units in the Downtown. The City has <br /> also aelopted new reguJatio�s and stanclards for de�eloprnent in the Mixed Use - Corridor areas <br /> of the City, The City is alsa working to draft new regulations and standards for devel�pment in <br /> the �ixed Use Neighborhood and Mixed Use/Live Wark areas af the City. The proposec! <br /> ordinance will be reviewed by the Plar�ning Cammission in the Surnmer 2012 and is anticipated <br /> to be reviewed by City Countil later that year. <br /> Bua.lding Community Elemen� <br /> Adoption: Octob�r 11, 2U10 <br /> Amendments: <br /> Resolution 1506: Adoptian of the R4ew General plan (OCtober 11, 20�0) <br /> Summary: The Building Community Element recognizes Redwood City's history of focus on <br /> improving the quality of life for all. The Building Community Element contains the following <br /> Chapters: Public Pfaces; Urban and Natural Trail Connections; Recreation and Hurnan Services; <br /> Health; Life�ong l.earning, Libraries, and Schoolsr and Childcare. Multiple Building Cammunity <br /> Implementation Measures are angoing. Zoning Ordinance amendments that wilf encourage <br /> healthy fifestyles (sutF� as the Mixed Use Corridor Zoning Ordinance Amendment) were adopted <br /> in 20�1. Two Farmers' markets are hefd in Redwood City, encouraging access ta� healthy foods. <br /> Specific status for each implementation program is included in Attachm�nt 2. <br /> Public Safety Element <br /> Adaption: Qctober 11, 20Z0 <br /> Amendments. <br /> Resolution 1506: Adoption of the New General Plan (Octaber 1Z, 2010) <br /> Summary: The Pubfie Safety E�ement adclresses public safety issues that affect Redwood City, <br /> and promotes pre�errtian, public edutation, and emergency preparedness as the a�proaches <br /> that will allow the community to minimize risks to life and propErty in the event af a disaster. <br /> 9 <br />
