8.A. - Page 10 <br /> ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> WHEREAS, the proposed amendment to Book II (Development <br /> Regulations) of the Downtown Precise Plan updates the necessary provisions to <br /> allow for the additional clarity, improved flexibility, and alternative land use <br /> designations; and <br /> WHEREAS, on April 3, 2012 and May 1, 2012, the Planning Commission <br /> held duly noticed public hearings and recommended that the City Council adopt <br /> the proposed Downtown Precise Plan amendment upon finding that the proposed <br /> Downtown Precise Plan amendment is in the public interest and consistent with <br /> the Redwood City General Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, a notice of public hearing on the proposed Downtown Precise <br /> Plan amendment was mailed to all properties within a 300-foot radius of the area <br /> affected by the amendment, and was duly published in the Daily News 10 days <br /> prior to the public hearing; and <br /> WHEREAS, on May 21, 2012, the City Council held a public hearing on <br /> the proposed Precise Plan Amendment, and on said date the public hearing was <br /> opened, held and closed; and <br /> WHEREAS, at the May 21, 2012 public hearing, the City Council <br /> considered the whole of the record. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. In the following descriptions of the amendments to the Downtown <br /> Precise Plan, the text shown in bold italics (example) is being added, the text <br /> shown in strikeout (°��) is being deleted, and the language in brackets, <br /> [example] is explanatory only and not a part of the Downtown Precise Plan <br /> amendment. <br /> Section 2. Section 2.0.3-A is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> A) Project Review Process <br /> Applications for development approvals shall be filed with the Planning <br /> Manager/Designee. Applications that the Planning Manager/Designee has <br /> determined to be complete shall be processed as follows: <br /> 1. Small Proiects <br /> Small Projects are projects in which no historic resource is located on the <br /> project parcel and in which one of the following descriptions applies: 1) The <br /> application is for the remodeling of an existing building in which no more than <br /> 10% new floor area is added; 2) The application is for the remodeling of an <br /> ATTY/RES0.2237/AMENDING BOOK II OF THE DTPP <br /> REV:05-10-12 VR <br /> Page 2 of 21 <br />
