A time on task analysis would be a useful indicator of how to
better allocate resources.
The Fire Department would benefit from the service FireStats provides by providing the
department with the capability to analyze how we provide services to the community
and how we can make sure to provide the best service possible. If the department
needs to make a change, we will, but we want to ensure we have all the available data
in order to make the correct decision.
ALTERNATIVES
Do not approve the agreement with FireStats, LLC and direct the department to use the
data currently available to them.
FISCAL IMPACT
The Fire Department has budgeted for this service and will not need to request any
money from the general fund. A onetime fee for $9,500 for implementation of the
application will be due 30 days from the execution of the agreement. Upon
implementation of the application to the satisfaction of the Fire Department, monthly
fees of $900 for the maintenance will be billed quarterly. The agreement between
FireStats and Redwood City is for an amount not to exceed $63,500 and the agreement
is effective for 5 years from the date of execution. San Carlos and Redwood City would
split the cost of the service.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
This activity is not a project under CEQA as defined in CEQA Guidelines section 15378,
because it involves continuing administrative activities and has no potential for resulting
in either a direct or foreseeable physical change in the environment.
,
'- J,,''t'+::= ...F
GINA KUNDERT
FIRE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

STAN MAUPIN
DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF
