6.3.A. - Page 2
• Redwood City Climate Best Express On Demand Shuttle ($222,927 requested,
$204,253 recommended for STA funding)
MTC requires that project sponsors adopt and submit resolutions supporting the
projects; these resolutions are due to MTC by the end of June 2012. STA-funded
projects require a single resolution; STP-funded projects require two resolutions.
ALTERNATIVES
City Council may choose to not adopt resolutions for the MTC LTP program, for one or
both projects.
FISCAL IMPACT
The estimated cost of the Middlefield/Woodside Road Intersection Improvements
Project is approximately $1,000,000, of which 34% is anticipated to be provided by LTP
program funding. The remaining funding will be provided by various programs under the
Gas Tax Construction Fund and the Traffic Impact Mitigation Fees Fund, which have
balances of approximately $5,967,000 and $6,403,000 respectively, and/or other
potential grant funding sources. No General Fund resources are anticipated to be used
to fund this project.
Annual operating costs for the Climate Best Express Shuttle are approximately
$147,000 (projected average for three years), of which 50% is anticipated to be
provided by LTP program funding, and 50% by other grant funding. Any unanticipated
shortfalls will be funded by the Shuttle Bus Services Program of the Traffic Impact Fees
Fund, which has a balance of $107,445 as of March 31, 2012. No General Fund
resources are anticipated to be used to support Redwood City's community shuttles.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
The actions associated with applying for and accepting funding do not constitute a
project pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act guidelines. Additional
environmental review will be completed for the projects as required by state and federal
law.
 „
 V` - '`_ _

JESSICA MANZI
SENIOR TRANSPORTATION COORDINATOR

BILL EKERN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
