7. Insurance: Permittee shall furnish to the City public liability and property damage
<br /> insurance naming the City of Redwood City, it Council, boards, commissions,
<br /> officers, employees, volunteers, and agents as insureds, or additional insureds,
<br /> insuring the same against all claims for personal injury or death to any person or
<br /> persons resulting or arising from the conducting of the activities herein permitted, or
<br /> alleged to have resulted or alleged to have arisen therefrom, or from any act or
<br /> omission to act, of Permittee in connection therewith, in the amounts of $1,000,000
<br /> for each person and $1,000,000 for each occurrence, and property damage
<br /> insurance for damage or injury to, or destruction of property, including the loss of
<br /> use thereof, in the amount of $1,000,000. Evidence of such insurance coverage in
<br /> form satisfactory to the City shall be furnished by Permittee to the City at least ten
<br /> (10) days prior to commencement of the event.
<br />
<br />8. Dama,qe to Public Property: Permittee shall reimburse the City for the costs of any
<br /> damages to City owned property in the vicinity of the designated route, caused by or
<br /> arising out of the conducting of the "Fiesta Run for Kids" permitted hereunder, or the
<br /> acts, omissions to act, of persons participating in said event. All signs or other
<br /> markings placed in or upon public property, including the public right of way in
<br /> connection with the "Fiesta Run for Kids", shall be removed immediately following
<br /> said event.
<br />
<br />9. Compliance With Laws: Permittee shall comply with all appropriate and applicable
<br /> rules, regulations and laws in connection with the conducting of said event, or any
<br /> activities associated therewith. This permit shall be in addition to all other permits
<br /> which are or may be required for conducting the "Fiesta Run for Kids" or any
<br /> associated activity.
<br />
<br /> 10. Hold Harmless: Permittee shall assume the defense of and indemnify and save
<br /> harmless the City of Redwood City, its Council, officers, boards, commissions,
<br /> employees, volunteers, and agents from all suits, actions, damages, or claims to
<br /> which the City may be subjected of any kind or nature whatsoever, resulting from or
<br /> arising out of the performance or failure to perform of Permittee hereunder, or
<br /> otherwise arising from or arising out of said race, or any activities herein permitted.
<br />
<br />11.Additional Matters: All participants will obey traffic laws, and yield to pedestrian
<br /> and vehicular traffic, where appropriate. Additional or further matters not herein
<br /> described or contemplated in connection with the "Fiesta Run for Kids" shall not be
<br /> effectuated without the prior written consent of the Chief of Police.
<br />
<br /> Volunteers from the Community Education Center will be responsible for providing,
<br /> placing, and collecting all cones and markers involved in this event.
<br />
<br /> It is understood there is another event scheduled in Redwood Shores in the form of
<br /> a bicycle event on this date. The two event directors have communicated and
<br />
