Employ non-chemical con�rols (biolagical, physical and cultura! controls) before using <br /> chernicals ta treat a pest problem. <br /> 2. Prur�e pfants properly and at the appropriate#irne of year. <br /> 3. Pro�ide adequate irrigation for landscape plants. Do not aver water. <br /> 4. Lirr�it fertilizer use unless sail testing indicates a deficiency. Slow-refease or organic <br /> fertilizer is preferable, Checic with m€anicipality far specifEC requirements. <br /> �. Pest control should a�oid harming non-target organisms, or negatively affecting air and <br /> water quality and public hea[th. Only licensed, trained pesticide appEicators shall apply pesticides. <br /> 9. Apply pesticides at the appropriate time to maximize their effecti�eness and minimize the <br /> iikelihood of discharging pesticides into runoff. With the exception of pre-emergent <br /> pesticides, avoid appfication if rain is ex�ected. <br /> 10. Unwar�tedlunusecf pesticides shall be disposed as hazardous waste. <br /> Standing water shall nof remain in the treatment measures for more than five days, to prevent <br /> mosquita generatiort. Should any mosquita issues arise, contact the San Mateo County Mosquito <br /> Abatemer�t District(SMCMADj, as needed for assistance.
