6.1.1. - Page 50 <br /> 3 � P a g e - FlaGard� Perk Filter System O&M Mar�ua! <br /> Maintenance O�er�iew for FloGard�Perk Filter Systems <br /> 5tate and Local regulations require that stormwater rr�anagement systems be r�aintained and serviced <br /> on a recurring 6asis. 7he purpose of rr�aintaining a clean and obstruction free Perk Filter sys#em is ta <br /> ensure the system perforrs�s the €ntended f�nctian of#he primary design. Trash and debris, floatables, <br /> gross pollutants and sediment can build�p in any storrnwater systern. This can cause the systern to <br /> function improperly by impeding flow in and out af the system and reduc9ng the operating efficiency of the <br /> media filters. Qownstream and upstream, areas could run the risk of ffooding and deleterious <br /> environmental impact. <br /> Recammended Frequency o#Service <br /> It is recorr�€�ended that FloGarc€O Perk Filter systems be serviced on a re�ularly occurring basis. <br /> Ultimately the frequency depends on the arnount of r�r�off,pallutant foading, and int�rference from trash, <br /> debris and gross pollutants as well as proper maintenance of upstream pretreatment de�ices. However, <br /> it is recommended that each installation be inspected in accardance with the foliowing guid�lines: <br /> Level 1 Inspeetion Service—Six(6) rnonths after�nit is placed inio ser�ice, or six(6) rnonths after a <br /> Leve1 2 or L.evel 3 inspection. <br /> Le�el 2lnspection Ser�ice- Six (6) months after a Level 2 inspection or twelve (i2) months after a <br /> Level 3 service. <br /> Le�e13 Setvice—As deterrr�ined by findings from Level 2 inspection service reports indicating a rr�edia <br /> filter change or system repairs are req�ired to maintain the operatirtg effieiency of the sysiem. <br /> 5ervice Rrocedures <br /> Ir�let Bay <br /> 1. The inlet manhole co�er(s) and or grate(s)shall be r�moved and placed to ane side. <br /> 2. For systems with a FloGard Plus Catch Basin Ins�rt,the insert wilk be cleaned in accordance with <br /> the general specifications for mainter�ance of those devices. After clsaning the filier shall be <br /> removed ar�d set aside. <br /> 3. Any debris wilf be removed from the inEet bay(s) and disposed of �n accordance with local <br /> regulations. <br /> 4. Check and elean#he area behind and under the i�let weir/bypass assembly. Remove ass�mbly <br /> as necessary to conduct inspection. <br /> 5. Check ctrain down asse�bly ancf clean ii necessary. <br /> 6. Re-install catch basin insert filter. <br /> 7. Re-instal!grate or manhofe access caver. <br /> Cartridge Bay <br /> 1. Rernove and place to or�e side the manhale access covers abave the eartridge bay. <br /> 2. A Level 1 inspeetion service shall cansist of a visua[inspection from the surface level. Observe <br /> ar�d note the conditior� of the cartridge bay and the cartridges, rneas�re sediment Ie�el, if any, <br /> and nota on maintertanee record.
