After a three year absence, <br /> the City has taken the lead in working with major corporate sponsors to pay for a 20 <br /> minute high aerial show. <br /> Fireworks Displav Details: <br /> The display will be conducted by a licensed fireworks vendor and will be launched from <br /> a barge tethered to Wharf 4. The City's Fire Marshall, Parks/Rec. Director, Port Staff <br /> (Don Snaman), and the pyro-technician, all met onsite to confirm the location. The Fire <br /> Marshall concurs that the location is safe and has received the necessary permits and <br /> paperwork from the pyro-technician. In order to obtain the US Coast Guard"marine <br /> events permit",the City was directed to obtain a barge as the paperwork on file with their <br /> unit indicated the use of a barge. <br /> The show will last for approximately 20 minutes and will begin at 9:15pm. <br /> The fireworks vendor has obtain all necessary permits in accardance with State law. <br /> Copies of these permits have been provided to the City's Fire Marshall. <br /> Provisions for maintaining the Safety Zone: <br /> The US Coast Guard regulations require a minimum safety zone of 1,000 away from the <br /> launch site. Therefore, no watercraft will be permitted to anchor or remain in the deep <br /> water turning basin during the display. The City of Redwood City requests support from <br /> the Port to communicate with the Sea Scouts of the Pacific Skyline Council to provide <br /> ships if available to help define the safety perimeter and to keep water craft from entering <br /> the safety zone. The Sea Scout Boats must be moved from the Wharf 4 azea to ensure the <br />
