It is the City's understanding from previous fireworks shows that the Sea Scouts will have radio communication and the ability to issue verbal warnings to boaters in the area that is closed. In advance of the fireworks show,the Sea Scouts will position their ships as to close/block access to the turning basin and the safety zone. They will also monitor the arrival of any craft that needs to transit the area to ensure the craft will cleaz the safety zone prior to the start of the show. The Sea Scouts are part of the emergency plan for the Coast Guard and can provide additional communications and on the water support capabilities. The City's Police Boat and Fire Boat will be in the water to patrol,provide assistance, and communicate with the Sea Scouts and Coast Guard if necessary. In addition, no shore spectators will be permitted in the industrial area near Wharf#4 and Wharf#5. The City requests that the Port notify a11 tenants, contractors, and vendors of the firework show and restrictions. The City also requests that an on-site contact from the Port is available to access areas as needed and to assist with the removal of any spectators that may have entered into any restricted area. Use of the aublic access area of Seanort Courts The City will provide uniformed private security personnel (12 confirmed with one supervisor on site), Police Cadets, CERT team members, and Police Officers to direct and monitor spectator activity in the public viewing area at Seaport Court. Personnel will also have traffic control duties and general monitoring and response as necessary. The City requests that the Port help by providing the following in this area: 1. Lighting standards to be used for the safe exit after the show 2. Porta-Potties 3. Trash support(Recology has confirmed that they will provide trash service and receptacles will be distributed on July 3rd� Notification to other agencies The Redwood City Police Department will notify other local agencies that may be affected by the fireworks display and any potential traffic impacts related to the show. Police/Securitv: Police Officers will be responsible for directing personnel as necessary onsite. Twelve security personnel will be on duty from approximately 1700 hrs. to 2300 hrs. at and around the Port. Police cadets and Fire CERT team members will be assisting from 1800 hrs. to 2300 hrs.
