6.1.A. - Page 2 <br /> The three (3) bids received at the bid opening on June 13, 2012 are summarized in the <br /> table below. <br /> Bidder Bid Amount <br /> American Asphalt Repair and Resurfacing Company Inc. $480,883.00 <br /> Valley Slurry Seal Co. 520,455.00 <br /> Graham Contractors, Inc. 640,932.50 <br /> Engineer's Estimate $450,000.00 <br /> Recommended Bidder: None <br /> Substantiation: N/A <br /> Work on 2011-2012 roadway projects was anticipated to begin mid-July and conclude <br /> at the end of September. Residents and property owners received notification of <br /> proposed roadway work as scheduled in their area by direct mail. A press release was <br /> issued on or around June 13, 2012. Directly affected parties will receive another notice <br /> to let them know about schedule changes for this project. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> Council may choose to award the contract to the apparent low bidder with the <br /> understanding that a bid protest may result. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> Funds were previously approved for the general purpose of this project as <br /> Transportation Fund -- Street Pavement Management Programs which has an available <br /> balance of $1,563,682 as of May 31, 2012. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW <br /> As the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the 2011-2012 Slurry <br /> Seal Project meets the California Environmental Quality Act exemption criteria as set <br /> forth in Section 15302, ("Replacement or Reconstruction"). <br /> i�'�1 �� - <br /> M.
