The Plan shall include the following elements: <br /> � The project appIicant shall identify a qualifed archaeologist prior to any <br /> demolition, excavation, or construction. The City sha11 approve the selected <br /> archaeologist prior to issuance of the grading permit. The project <br /> archaeolagist shal! attenc� the pre-grading meeting to discuss how to <br /> recognize archaea�ogical resources in the soil during grading activities. The <br /> prime constructian contractor and any subcontractor(s) shaIl be cavtioned on <br /> I the legal and/or regulatory irriplications of knowing�y destroying cuItural <br /> resources or rerr�oving artifacts, human remains, and other cultural materials <br /> from ttte project site. <br /> • The archaeologist si�ail perform spot check monitoring during grading and <br /> s�absurface construction and watch far and evaluate a.rtifacts or resources that <br /> may be �ancovered. The archaealogist shall also have the authority to <br /> temporarily halt excavation ana construction activities in the immediate <br /> vicinity (within a SO-meter radius) af a find if signifcant or potentiatly <br /> significant cuItural resources are ex�osed andlor adversely affected by <br /> constructian aperations. Reasonable time will be allowed for the qUalified <br /> archaeologist to notify the proper authorities for a more detailed inspection <br /> and examination of the exposed cultural resources. During this time, <br /> exca�ation and construction would not be allowed in the immediate vicinity <br /> of the find; however, those activities COL]IC� continue in other areas af the <br /> project site. <br /> • If any find were determined to be significant by the qualified archaeologist, <br /> representatives of the project applicant or construction contractar and the <br /> City, and the qua�ified archaeologist, wi12 meet to determine the appropriate <br /> course of action.
