W�at is important aestheticatly about my neigh�orhood is the semi-rura�character of the narth slde of Finger Avenue,with many homes set Far back from the street,The appearance af iarge arnaunts oFopen space with txtature,old growth trees,provides a striking hackdrap ta the homes.The cantrast between the north side of Finger Avenue and its sauth sfde,with its many quaint,earty 20th centuty hungalows and cottages,is somethf ng that's uRique to Redwood City ana treasured by its residents. Exam�ies of how the Ffnger Avenue Qroject sigtlificantty degrades the aesthetics of our neighborhaod are: • Construction of two hnmes wlth wide two-story facades set bac[c the minimutr� allowable distance from the street,There are no hoe�ses that large set that close Ea the str�et an�rwhere in our neighborhood. • Nowhere else on Finger Avenue are homes thls large placed on lots this srrea��, + All af the homes are of simflar size and aIl two•story,as oppased to the mix of home sizes and heights that are tepresentative of the north side of Finge�•Avenue, • Most of�these nlne homes wilt be viewable from the public street,rhere is liCtle open s�ace and the homes are only set bacl�a small distance from the narrow that serves them (some Frotn 3ft-6f�from the al�eyway,) Nowhere in our nelghborhood are houses situated in this fas�ion. .
