INhat is important aesthetically��out my neighborhood is the semi-ruY•aI character of the north slde of Finger Avenue,w9th many hames set far back from the streek.The a�pearance of targe amounts ofopen space with mature,old growth trees,prorrides a striking backdrop to the homes.The contrast hetween the north stde of Finger Avenue ar�d its south s9de,with its many yuaint,early 20th century bUngalows and cottages,is soenething that's�nique to Redwood City and treasured by its residents. Bxamples af how the Finger Avenue Project segnlficantly degrades the �estlietics af our neighborhond are: . Construction oFtwo horr�es with w[de two-story facades set back the minimum a�lowable distance from the street.There are no houses Chat large set that clase to the stre�t anywhere fn our Re[g�barhood. • Nowhere e�se on Finger Avenue are homes thts large placed on lots this small, • All of the harrt�s are of simi�ar sixe and a!t two-story,as opPosed ta the tnix oF home slxes and heights that are representative ofthe north side of Fi�nger Avenue. . Most of these nine homes will be viewable fram the public street.There is little open space and the hames are only set hack a smail dlstance from the narrow that serves thern (some frorr�3Ft—bft fram the al�eyway.) Nowhere in oar neighborhood are houses situated in this fashion. .
