6.1.H. - Page 2 Once the new expanded scope was developed and Redwood City IT estimated the number of hours required to program the application it was realized the number of hours East Palo Alto purchased would need to be increased for fiscal year 2011-12 for work already completed as well as for fiscal year 2012-13 for work to be completed during that period. ANALYSIS Approving this amendment will add up to an additional 950 billable hours to fiscal year 2011-12 and up to an additional 635 billable hours to fiscal year 2012-13. Because of the nature of the rent stabilization program, it could also add additional hours of billable work for maintenance and modification beyond fiscal year 2012-13. For all the years mentioned above Redwood City IT should have the ability to absorb these additional hours with existing staff through a mix of shared development and well planned scheduled deliveries. ALTERNATIVES The Council could elect not to approve the amendment increasing the number of hours sold to the City of East Palo Alto and continue with the existing agreement as is. This is not an advisable alternative as a lot of time and effort has been put into this project and Redwood City would not be viewed favorable by one of our larger clients if we elected not to continue working on this. This would also decrease the revenues of the IT Department,. FISCAL IMPACT The impact of approving this amendment will increase revenues to the City of Redwood City by an amount not to exceed $121,332 during fiscal year 2011-12 and not to exceed $91,000 during fiscal year 2012-13. The actual value is directly dependent upon the number of hours actually worked on this project.
