Conduct investigations of citizen and Department personnel complaints as <br /> assigned; mediate conflicts between Department personnel and citizens. <br /> 12. Assume command of police activities at emergencies until relieved by a superior <br /> officer; function as on-site incident commander for major field activities; supervise <br /> investigations, interviews, and interrogations in the field; conduct highly complex or <br /> sensitive investigations; oversee and participate in the collection and processing of <br /> evidence. <br /> 13. Maintain and prepare various records and reports. <br /> 14. Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends <br /> and innovations in the field of law enforcement; review new laws and ordinances; <br /> participate in training programs to improve professional skills. <br /> 15. Evaluate Department training needs and make recommendations; coordinate, <br /> develop, implement and monitor training programs for the Department. <br /> 16.
