The contractor shall also guarantee that theboat has been thoroughly "run-in" and tested prior to delivery. All warranty repair requests shall be completed within fourteen(14) days of the Bidder's receipt of the warranty repair request. 3.17.2 To protect the interest of The Redwood City Fire Department, the manufacturer shall guarantee in writing that all equipment offered is new equipment, of the most current design, is a regular stock product, with a guaranteed availability of parts for a minimum of fifteen (15) years for engines, gears and shaft bearings. In the event that a manufacturer may offer extended warranties, the contractor shall not add markups to these warranties. 3.17.3 The manufacturer shall provide a one (1) year warranty that covers all defective parts and/or components, the improper use of materials, parts and/or components, improper design or engineering and poor or improper workmanship or quality control techniques. This warranty shall cover the completed vessel and shall include any and all costs for labor and parts that are required to correct any and all deficiencies. All warranty periods mentioned in this specification shall commence from the date the vessel is "Accepted"unless otherwise specified. 3.18 Service Facility/Warranty Repairs: 318.1 The Redwood City Fire Department is extremely concerned with purchasing the boat from a manufacturer who can provide the necessary service after the sale. With this in mind, the successful bidder must be able to provide warranty service in San Mateo, San Francisco, Alameda, Marin or Contra Costa County, California. (NO EXCEPTIONS) 3.18.2 All warranty repairs shall be completed at the above referenced location(s). However, The Redwood City Fire Department shall retain the option to repair the boat with City of Redwood City personnel at a labor rate of$70.00 per hour, with the manufacturer reimbursing The City of Redwood City for all expenses and supplying whatever parts, assemblies, systems, etc., that are necessary to complete the repairs. 3.19 Electrical System Warranty: 3.19.1 The manufacturer shall provide a 1 year warranty on electrical system warranty that covers all electrical connections, harness, switches, circuit breakers, and relays. 3.20 Generator Warranty: 3.20.12A two year warranty provided by the manufacturer, shall be included with the generator. 3.21 Corrosion Plan: 3.21.1 The hull, cabin/pilot house will be warranted against rust-through or perforation, due to corrosion from within for a period of five (5) years. Perforation is defined as a condition in which an actual hole occurs in a section of inetal due to corrosion from within the Marine Unit. Surface rust or corrosion caused by chips or scratches in the paint is not covered by this warranty. The warranty plan, is valid as long as the department is compliant with the comprehensive maintenance plan, provided by the manufacturer, 3.22 Hull: 3.22.1 The manufacturer will warranty the hull and hull welds for ten (10)years. 3.23 Paint and Finish: 3.23.1 A The clear coat paint finish. 3.23.1 B Peeling or delaminating of the top coat and/or other layers of paint. 3.23.1 C Cracking or checkering. 3.23.1 D Loss of gloss due to defective finishes. 3.24 En�ine Warranty: 3.24.1 A two (2) year, 1000 hour extended major components warranty shall be provided for the engines. 19
