The contractor shall also guarantee <br /> that theboat has been thoroughly "run-in" and tested prior to delivery. All warranty repair <br /> requests shall be completed within fourteen(14) days of the Bidder's receipt of the warranty <br /> repair request. <br /> 3.17.2 To protect the interest of The Redwood City Fire Department, the manufacturer shall <br /> guarantee in writing that all equipment offered is new equipment, of the most current design, <br /> is a regular stock product, with a guaranteed availability of parts for a minimum of fifteen <br /> (15) years for engines, gears and shaft bearings. In the event that a manufacturer may offer <br /> extended warranties, the contractor shall not add markups to these warranties. <br /> 3.17.3 The manufacturer shall provide a one (1) year warranty that covers all defective parts <br /> and/or components, the improper use of materials, parts and/or components, improper design <br /> or engineering and poor or improper workmanship or quality control techniques. This <br /> warranty shall cover the completed vessel and shall include any and all costs for labor and <br /> parts that are required to correct any and all deficiencies. All warranty periods mentioned in <br /> this specification shall commence from the date the vessel is "Accepted"unless otherwise <br /> specified. <br /> 3.18 Service Facility/Warranty Repairs: <br /> 318.1 The Redwood City Fire Department is extremely concerned with purchasing the boat <br /> from a manufacturer who can provide the necessary service after the sale. With this in mind, <br /> the successful bidder must be able to provide warranty service in San Mateo, San Francisco, <br /> Alameda, Marin or Contra Costa County, California. (NO EXCEPTIONS) <br /> 3.18.2 All warranty repairs shall be completed at the above referenced location(s). Perforation is defined as a condition <br /> in which an actual hole occurs in a section of inetal due to corrosion from within the Marine <br /> Unit. Surface rust or corrosion caused by chips or scratches in the paint is not covered by this <br /> warranty. The warranty plan, is valid as long as the department is compliant with the <br /> comprehensive maintenance plan, provided by the manufacturer, <br /> 3.22 Hull: <br /> 3.22.1 The manufacturer will warranty the hull and hull welds for ten (10)years. <br /> 3.23 Paint and Finish: <br /> 3.23.1 A The clear coat paint finish. <br /> 3.23.1 B Peeling or delaminating of the top coat and/or other layers of paint. <br /> 3.23.1 C Cracking or checkering. <br /> 3.23.1 D Loss of gloss due to defective finishes. <br /> 3.24 En�ine Warranty: <br /> 3.24.1 A two (2) year, 1000 hour extended major components warranty shall be provided for <br /> the engines. <br /> 19 <br />
