The Redwood City Fire Department reserves the right to reject any and <br /> all items which fail to qualify. <br /> 1.2 Sids: <br /> 1.2.1 Not Applicable. <br /> 1.3 Warranty and Service: <br /> 1.3.1 All repairs and/or replacements shall be made at no cost whatsoever and to the <br /> complete satisfaction of the Redwood City Fire Department within the first year. The <br /> guarantee shall not cover breakage or damage caused by acts of God, neglect, misuse or <br /> wrecking caused by actual use, collision or carelessness on the part of others than the <br /> manufacturer after the vessel has been accepted by the Redwood City Fire Department. The <br /> contractor shall also guarantee that the hull has been tested and compliant in accordance with <br /> ABS welding standards. <br /> 1.4 Service Facility/Warranty Repairs: <br /> 1.4.1 The Redwood City Fire Department is extremely concerned with purchasing the vessel <br /> from a manufacturer who can provide the necessary service after the acceptance of the <br /> vessel. With this in mind, the successful bidder must be able to provide warranty service in <br /> San Mateo, San Francisco, Alameda, Marin, or Contra Costa County, California. (No <br /> Exceptions) <br /> 1.5 Warranty: <br /> 1.5.1 Warranty coverage and durations are detailed in Section 3 of this document. <br /> 1.10 Start of Warranty Period: <br /> 1.101 All warranties shall commence on completion of training and acceptance tests of <br /> vessel with the Redwood City Fire Department. The manufacturer shall be notified by U.S. <br /> Mail of the date of acceptance. <br /> Section 2 - Contractor's Responsibilities and Requirements <br /> 2.0 Time of Delivery: <br /> 2.0.1 The successful bidder, after issuance of Notice to Proceed, shall diligently ensure that <br /> the vessel is fully equipped, construction completed, and delivered to the Redwood City Fire <br /> Department within 365 days. <br /> 2.1 Qualifications of Bidders: <br /> 2.1.1 Each Bidder shall furnish satisfactory evidence that it has an operational facility <br /> adequate for the manufacture of the vessel that it intends to furnish as well as documented <br /> experience of construction, delivery, and successful operation of a vessel of similar <br /> type/make for ten (10) years. Each bidder shall furnish a statement of qualification and <br /> description of project organizational management structure/personnel for this project. Bidder <br /> shall also identify in writing of any pending litigation. <br /> 2.1.2 Each bidder shall conform to all the requirements associated with the FEMA Port <br /> Security Grant Guidelines. Redwood FD to provide details 2.2 Deliverv of Equipment: <br /> 2.2.1 Delivery of the vessel shall be accompanied by any outstanding invoice(s) and shall be <br /> identified with a Purchase Order Number and Vessel Identification Number. The receipt of <br /> the vessel, manuals, instruction, and certification of prescribed tests will constitute delivery. <br /> At the presentation of payment,the bidder shall produce a Manufacturer's Certificate of <br /> Origin. Delivery of the vessel incomplete or requiring changes/modifications shall be <br /> unacceptable and shall be considered a breach of contract. <br /> 2.3 En�ineerin� Conferences: <br /> 2.3.1 Prior to the start of construction of the vessel subject to this specification, the contractor <br /> shall schedule an Engineering Conference at the manufacturer's factory with five (5) officials <br /> of the Redwood City Fire Department and or their designees to review in detail the necessary <br /> drawings, designs, measurements, etc., and samples of welds that may be required to <br /> 3 <br />
