i -Council Member Foust reported that she is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Bay Area Council Economic Institute and they released a snippet Bay Area Regional Economic Profile and she found the report sobering. She announced the institute is trying to fund finro additional studies one of them being the Americas Cup and if it may come to our area. The Mayor is writing a letter of support for this event to come to the area and this would be a revenue creator. The other area is a pension reform study. She also attended a High Speed Rail meeting. She would like everyone to respect the process and study the facts. -Vice Mayor Aguirre explained that she attended the Governments Committee Meeting by the Chamber and she heard a speech on biotech and how there is an interest in creating a special Department within the Governor's Cabinet. She also spoke about the Jobs Bill created by President Obama. She represented the Mayor at the Mayor's for Meals event and she enjoyed it. She was also Principal for a day at a local school. She attended the Arbor Day event where Ken Rollandeli was honored and she attended another event organized by the Daughters of the Golden West and a beautiful quilt representing Redwood City was presented. She announced that the San Mateo County genealogical society has opened up its new headquarters at Canada College. She also attended the South Bay Grand Opening and the Streets Alive event was a success regardless of the rain. -Council Member Pierce announced that there might be a High Speed Rail public workshop on Ap ' 29t" and she said this information will be on the website. 10.
