The <br /> vast majority of the clients served are from Redwood City and Unincorporated North Fair Oaks <br /> with a significant number also coming from East Palo Alto, and Menlo Park. <br /> 4. Demographic Population <br /> We expect to serve a popularion similar to those served so far in Fiscal Year 2011-2012 with 96% of <br /> the households being very low or extremely low income with the following ethnic/racial breakdown: <br /> 65% Hispanic; 3% African American; 26% mulri-racial/other non-white; 6%white. <br /> More specifically with regards to the older adult population served by the Fair Oaks Adult Activity <br /> Center, 44% reported incomes under the federal poverty level (less than $1000/month),while 84% <br /> are very low or extremely low income with the following ethnic/racial breakdown: 43% <br /> Hispanic/Latino; 37% Caucasian; 8% Asian; 3% African American; 2% Filipino; 2% Mulri-racial <br /> and 5% other. <br /> 5. Funds from the July 2009 round were utilized to increase the Information and Referral <br /> Program's capacity to provide homeless prevention case management services and fund direct client <br /> assistance needs. Funds from the July 2010 and July 2011 round were utilized to support the basic <br /> operations of the FOCC Information and Referral Program. <br /> With our current grant,we have successfully maintained our staff capacity to provide much needed <br /> safety net services.
