She <br /> made comments about about working together and being respectful. She said that any <br /> application that is filed will need to address the needs of the city which includes, water, <br /> restoration, traffic, etc. She invited all residents and non-residents to get involved in all <br /> things that are happening now and need public input like Depot Circle, Stanford, Inner <br /> Harbor Visioning. <br /> Another Council Member thanked the Ad Hoc Committee for its work and he reaffirmed <br /> that this Council wants to focus on what is best for Redwood City and that includes <br /> working together, agreeing to disagree and showing respect towards all but we are not <br /> allowed to be disagreeable with each other. He referred to social media and how the <br /> Council is aware of the labels and the judgments which are unnecessary and uncalled <br /> for. He asked that people disagree but learn not to be disagreeable with each other. <br /> A Council Member noted that freedom of speech is a great thing but it comes with <br /> responsibility. He said that as Council Members they have to have thick skin because <br /> people make accusations and don't know about the Council's integrity and he is sad <br /> that some things were said and were shameful because people have families and <br /> children and some people's children have been hurt and that is a sad day. He also <br /> added he is not in favor of an advisory vote because it "all depends". <br /> Mayor Aguirre made comments about all politics being local and how we have an <br /> opportunity to set and example. She also said that a speaker said this is a "victory" and <br /> in the Mayors opinion a victory is when a community works together and she thanked <br /> the 99% that were civil and respectful throughout this process. <br /> 9. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> Council Member Foust rejoined the dais. <br /> A. City Council Member Report of Conferences Attended <br /> B. City Council Committee Reports <br /> Council Member Pierce announced an event on May 20 Redwood City Celebrating <br /> Together. She said this will be a great multi-cultural event. <br /> Mayor Aguirre shared that last Friday she was at the launching celebration of a Zip Car <br /> station and she was very excited about this. She thanked Adrienne Tissier and others <br /> who made this possible. She noted that Redwood City is working on various fronts on <br /> Bicycle Sharing, Zip Cars, Van Shares and the Ferry System. <br /> The Mayor attended a Young Dreamers Network and she was so thrilled with what they <br /> are doing and there were close to 150 students. She also mentioned attending the <br /> Redwood City Education Foundation fundraiser which was a success. <br /> C.
