EXHIBIT "A" SCOPE OF SERVICES Task 1: Staff Meetings This proposal includes an allocation for attendance at coordination meetings and/or conference calls with staff as necessary. Meetings with stakeholders, community meetings, and meetings with the Planning Commission and City Council are outlined as separate items, and may be combined with those of other work efforts. The first meeting with staff will be a kick-off to gain a complete understanding of the project specifics and plan for the community outreach. As part of the meeting, staff will provide an overview of previous related work conducted by the City's intern, for the General Plan, and other related efforts. The meeting will also include a review of sample design guidelines that staff and Consultant have each compiled. Products: • Summary of kick-off ineeting • Community outreach strategy, in written form • Scope of work refinement if needed. Task 2: Neighborhood Typology Research Consultant will conduct neighborhood typology research, building upon neighborhood typologies described in the Built Environment section of the General Plan Urban Form and Land Use Element: • Historic Influence Low Density Neighborhoods • Historic Influence High Density Neighborhoods • Post-War Neighborhoods • Mixed Density Neighborhoods • Hillside Neighborhoods • Master Planned Neighborhoods • WaterFront Neighborhoods For each neighborhood type described in the Plan Urban Form and Land Use Element, Consultant will identify: • Era of original construction • Character defining features - Build-to lines / Setbacks - Entry feature - Roof form - Garage placement - Exterior materials - Architectural details • Placement of addition ATTY/AGR/2012.116/METROPOLITAN PLANNING GROUP ZONNING AMENDMENTS REV:08-27-12 VR Page 10 of 14
