4- All materials, parts, and equipment furnished by the Contractor in the work shall be new, high grade, <br /> and free from defects. Quality of work shall be in accord with the generally accepted standards. <br /> Material and work quality shall be subject to the City's approval. <br /> Salva�ed/Non-Salvageable Equipment or Material: <br /> 1- Contractor shall either hold in its storage facility, or deliver to a location designated by the City, any <br /> salvageable equipment or material as per direction by the City. <br /> 2- Contractor shall properly dispose of any equipment or material declared non-salvageable as per <br /> direction by the City. <br /> 3- Contractor shall try to utilize any salvaged equipment in good working condition if possible. <br /> Warrantv Service <br /> New traffic signals, street lights, and other electrical parts and materials are covered by the installing <br /> Contractor's material and workmanship warranty far one (1) year after acceptance. Where parts or <br /> material become defective during this warranty period, the Contractor shall notify the City so that the <br /> warranty may be exercised. The Contractor shall be responsible for exercising maintenance and <br /> replacement covered by the warranty. At expiration of the warranty, servicing of traffic signals, street <br /> lights, and other electrical devices shall be perfor►ned in accordance with these specifications. No <br /> additional, or separate, compensation shall be paid for warranty service work. <br /> Protection of Propertv/Public Safetv <br /> Contractor will do the following: <br /> 1- Confine operations at site to areas permitted by contract documents. <br /> 2- Do not encumber site with excessive material or equipment. <br /> 3- Do not impose any load on any structure that will damage or endanger structure. <br /> 4- Take precautions necessary to prevent annoyance to occupants adjacent to ar in the vicinity of the <br /> work. <br /> 5- Contractor is solely responsible for conditions of the jobsite, including safety of all persons and <br /> property during performance of work. This requirement will apply continuously and will not be <br /> limited to normal working hours. Safety and sanitary provisions shall confarm to applicable Federal, <br /> State, County, and local laws, regulations, ordinances, standards, and codes. Where any of these are <br /> in conflict the more stringent requirement shall be followed. All public and private property, <br /> pavement or improvement shall be safely guarded from injury or loss in connection with this contract <br /> by the Contractor at all times. Should any facility, structure, or property be damaged during <br /> operations of the Contractor,he/she shall immediately notify the proper owner or authorities. <br /> 6- The Contractor at his/her expense, shall rebuild, repair, restore, and make good to the City's <br /> satisfaction all injuries and damages resulting from his/her operations. <br /> 7- During performance of the work, the Contractor shall erect and maintain necessary temporary fences, <br /> bridges, railings, lights, signals, barriers, or other safeguards (at Contractor's expense) as shall be <br /> appropriate under the circumstances in his/her judgment for the prevention of accidents; and he/she <br /> shall take other precautions as necessary for public safety including,but not limited to,traffic control. <br /> General Services Agreement between the City of Redwootl City and REV: 08-15-12 JS <br /> Cal-West Lighting and Signal Maintenance, Inc. <br /> ATTY/AGR/2012.104/CAL-WEST LIGHT&SIGNAL MAINTENANCE INC Page 10 of 12 <br />
