6.1.E. - Page 58 <br /> 8. C1TY AUDIT: MONITORING. City may audit the records and <br /> accounts af Cantrac#or for the purpose af verifying expenditures by Contrac#ar af <br /> funds pravided by City pursuan# ta this Agreement or verifying statements or <br /> anafyses made or provided by Contractor under this Agreem�nt. Contractor wifl <br /> promptly respand tn, and comply wfth, any audit exception made ar taken by City <br /> or appropriate federal agencies relating to Contractor's perfarmance or failure ta <br /> perform under this Agreement, Contractor will, upon demand by City, pay City <br /> the full amount owing to City or to the United States Government as a result of <br /> any such audit exception. <br /> City will monitor Contractor's Project and expenditures made pursuant to <br /> this Agreement quarterly ta �erify Contractor's campliance with this Agreement <br /> and local and federal contract requiremenfs. Contractor shall cooperate with City <br /> and provide all dacuments and information requested by City in a timely and <br /> accurate fashion. <br /> 9. RECORD RETENTION. Contractor shall retain all financial, <br /> supparting documents, statistical records, and all other records pertinent to the <br /> Agreement for a period of four (4} years. The refiention periad begins on the date <br /> of the submissian of the City's Comprehensive Annual Perforrr�ance & Evafuation <br /> Repart (CAPER) to HUD in which the activities assisted under the Agreement are <br /> reported on far the final time. Notwitl�standing the above, if there is litigation, <br /> claims, audits, negotiations ar ather actions that involve any of the records cited, <br /> and that hav� start�d befor� the expiratian of the four-year periad, then such <br /> records must be retained untif completion af the actians and resolutiort of al� <br /> issues, or th� expiration of the four year period, whiche�er occurs later. <br /> 10. ACCE55 TO RECORDS.
