City may audit the records and <br /> accounfis of Contractor far fhe purpose of verifying �xpenditures by Contractor of <br /> funds provi�ed by City pursuant to this Agreement or verifying statements or <br /> analyses made or provided by Contractor under this Agreement. Cantractor wiil <br /> promptly respond to, and comply with, any audit exception made or kaken by City <br /> or appropriate federal agencies relating ta Contractor's performance or failure to <br /> perform under this Agreement. Contractar will, upnn demand by City, pay Ci#y <br /> the full amount owing to City or to the United States Ga�ernment as a result of <br /> any such audit exc�ption. <br /> City will monitor Contractor's Praject and �xp�rrditur�s made pursuant to <br /> this Agreement quarterly ta v�rify Contractor's campliance with this Agre�merrt <br /> and local and federal contract requirements. Cantractor shall cooperate with City <br /> and pravide alE documents and information requested by City in a timely and <br /> accurate fashion. <br /> 9. RECORD RETENTION. Contractor shall retain a!I financiaf, <br /> supporting aocuments, statisticai records, and alf other records pertinent to the <br /> Agreemenfi fior a period of four (4} years. The retention period begins on the date <br /> of the submission o#the City's Comprehensive Annual Performance & Evaluation <br /> Report (CAPER) to HU❑ in which the acti�ities assisted under the Agreement are <br /> r�ported an far the final time. Notwithstanding the above, if thEre is fitigation, <br /> claims, audits, negotiations or other actians that invol�e any of the records cited, <br /> and that hav� started before the expiratian of the four-year periad, then such <br /> records must be retained until completion af the acfions and resolution of all <br /> issues, or the �xpiratian of the four year perio�, whichever occurs later. <br /> 10. ACC�SS T� R�C�RDS.
