6.1.E. - Page 206 <br /> 8. CITY AUDIT; MONITORING. City may audit the records and <br /> accounts of Cantractor tor the purpose of verifying expenditures by Contractor of <br /> funds provided by City pursuant to this Agreement or verifying statements or <br /> analyses made ar provided by Can#ractar under this Agreement. Contractor will <br /> promptly respnnd to, and comply with, any audit excepfian made or taken by City <br /> or appropriate federal agencies relat�ng to Cor�tractor's performance or failure to <br /> perform under this Agreement. Cantractor w�ll, Upon �emand by City, pay City <br /> the full amount owing to City or to the United States Go�ernment as a result of <br /> any such audit exception. <br /> City will monitor Contractor's Project and exp�nditures made pursuant to <br /> this Agreement quarterly to �erify Contractor's compliance with this Agreement <br /> and local and federal contract requirements. Contractor shall cooperate with City <br /> and provide all documents and information requested by City in a timely ar�d <br /> accurate fashiar�. <br /> 9. RECORD RETENTIQN. Contractor sF�all retain al! financial, <br /> supporting documents, statistica! records, and all other records pertinent to the <br /> Agreement for a period af four (4} years. The retention period begins on the date <br /> of the submission of ti�e City's Comprehensive Annual PerformaRCe & Evaluation <br /> Report {CAPER) to HUD in which tne activities assisted under the Agreement are <br /> reported on for the final fime. Notwi#hstanding the above, if there is litigation, <br /> claims, a�dits, negotiations ar ather actions that invol�e any of the records cited, <br /> and that have started befare the expiration of the four-year period, then such <br /> records mus# �ae retained until completEan af the actions and resolutior� of all <br /> issues, or the expiratian of the four year period, which��er occurs later. <br /> 10. ACCESS TO RECORDS. Contractor s�ta�l furnish and cause each of <br /> its awn subrecipients andlor subcontractors to furnish alf infarmation and re�orts <br /> required hereunder and wil! permit access to its books, records and accounts by <br /> ATTY/AGR/2012.121/CDBG HOME SHARING PROGRAM <br /> REV:08-31 12 VR <br /> Page A of 15 <br />
