6.1.C. - Page 3
FISCAL IMPACT
Funds for the general work of this project have been approved and appropriated in the
Fiscal Year 2012/13 budget as Water Fund Capital Projects — Distribution System
Replacement Program which has an available balance of $988,700.00 as of August 31,
2012.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW
As the lead agency, City of Redwood City has determined that the 2012-2013
Watermain Replacement Project meets the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) exemption criteria as set forth in Section 15302(C) (replacement or
reconstruction of existing utility system and/or facilities involving negligible or no
expansion of capacity). Furthermore, this project has been designed compliant with the
city's Engineering Standards and accepted practices.
This project does not require a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System
(NPDES) General Permit for stormwater discharges associated with construction and
land disturbance activities pursuant to Attachment A.2 of Order 2010-0014-DWQ which
exempts projects to update existing lines and facilities. However, the proposed
construction will employ stormwater pollution prevention best methods and practices.
PHONG DU, PE
SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER

BILL EKERN
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

ROBERT B. BELL
CITY MANAGER
