6.1.E. - Page 14 <br /> 8. CITY_ AUDET= MONiTORING. City may audit the records and <br /> accounts af Contractor far the purpose of verifying expenditures by Cantractor af <br /> funds provided by City pursuant to this Agreement or verifying statements or <br /> anaiyses made ar pravided by Contractor under this Agreement. Contractor will <br /> promptly respand to, and comply with, any audit exception made or taken by City <br /> or appropriate federal agencies relatfng to Contractor's performance or failure to <br /> perform under this Agreement. Cantractor will, upon demand by City, pay City <br /> the full ama�ant awing to City or to the United Sta#es Government as a result of <br /> any such audit exception. <br /> City will monitor Contractor's Project and expenditUres made pursuant to <br /> this Agreement quarterly to verify Cantractar's compliance with #his Agreement <br /> and local and federal contract requirements. Confracfor shall cooperate with City <br /> and pra�ide all documents and information requested by City in a timely and <br /> accurate fashion. <br /> 9. REC�RD RETENTlON. Contractor shall retain al! financial, <br /> supporting documer�ts, statistica! records, and all other records pertinent to the <br /> Agreement far a period of four (4) years. The retention period begins on the date <br /> af the submission of tne City's Comprehensi�e Annual Performance & Evaluation <br /> Report (CAPER) to HUD in which the activities assisfed under the Agreement are <br /> reported an for th� final time. Nof�rvithstanding the above, if there is litigation, <br /> claims, audits, negotiations or ather actions that invol�e any af the records cited, <br /> and that have started before the ex�iration of tF�e faur-year period, then such <br /> records must be retained Until completion of the actions and resolution of all <br /> issues, ar #he expiration of#he four year period, whichever occurs later. <br /> 10. ACCESS TO RECORDS.
