EXHIBIT "A" SCOPE OF SERVICES A. URBAN DESIGN SERVICES Consultant shall provide urban design services, including site analysis, building massing, drawings depicting public space improvements and interface with development, presentation of concepts to staff and developers, all as necessary and as expressly directed and authorized by the Community Development Director, for the following: 1. Block 2 and the Winslow Lot: The City anticipates that initial urban design studies will be required for the roadway and public space interface between the City-owned properties generally known as Block 2 and the Winslow Lot, which are the subject of negotiation between the City and private development entities. Upon receiving written authorization to proceed from the Community Development Director, Consultant shall provide the services authorized under the Authorization to Proceed in accordance with Section B, below. 2. Sequoia Station: The City anticipates that initial urban design studies will be required for the redesign of the Caltrain stop at Sequoia Station to develop, in coordination with Caltrain and SamTrans, a plan for the creation and construction of a new rail station. Upon receiving written authorization to proceed from the Community Development Director, Consultant shall provide the services authorized under the Authorization to Proceed in accordance with Section B, below. 3. Other Urban Design Projects: The City anticipates that initial urban design studies will be required for other projects as they may arise from time to time during the Term of this Agreement. Upon receiving written authorization to proceed from the Community Development Director, Consultant shall provide the services authorized under the Authorization to Proceed in accordance with Section B, below. B. AUTHORIZATION TO PROCEED Upon request in writing by the Community Development Director relating to any of the above projects, Consultant shall submit a written proposal for anticipated consulting fees or, where appropriate a detailed written proposal for cost and schedule to produce plans and drawings at the scale and detail deemed appropriate through consultation with staff for each project to proceed. Such detailed written proposal shall include all contemplated tasks, including without limitation coordination with staff including meetings, deliverables, and a detailed time schedule for each. No work shall be commenced pursuant to this Agreement without a written authorization to proceed issued by the Community Development Director. C. FEE SCHEDULE All work shall be as expressly authorized and directed by Community Development Director. Consultant shall bill monthly on an hourly basis, at$150 per hour.
