6.1.B. - Page 2 <br /> Staff issued requests for proposals and received responses from five well-qualified <br /> design consulting firms: Carollo Engineers Inc., Kennedy/Jenks Consultants, West Yost <br /> Associates, Pakpour Consulting Group, and Infrastructure Engineering Corporation. <br /> Proposals submitted by these firms were evaluated by staff based on criteria that <br /> included demonstrated understanding of the project scope & schedule, prior experience <br /> on similar projects, project management abilities, level of effort, and availability of key <br /> personnel. IEC received the highest score and is recommended by staff for this project. <br /> Subsequent to good faith negotiations, IEC proposes to perform the scope of work for <br /> $385,339. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> Council may choose not to approve the proposed agreement with IEC, and direct staff <br /> to find alternate means of completing the work, or modify the scope of work, or select <br /> other consultants. <br /> FISCAL IMPACT <br /> Funds for this project were partially and previously appropriated as Water Fund Capital <br /> Projects— California Tank and Pump Station. This budget line has an available balance <br /> of $1,330,000, as of September 30, 2012.
