Human Resources staff conducted a salary survey <br /> with designated labor market cities. Only two of these cities had comparable <br /> classifications; other cities utilize contract personnel, or a combination of information <br /> technology professionals and lower level technicians for GIS functions. Therefore, <br /> internal classifications were analyzed and a salary aligned 10% above the Senior <br /> Engineering Technician classification ($6,651 to $8,084 per month) is recommended. <br /> This range is consistent with the two labor market city classifications that were <br /> surveyed. The City has reached tentative agreement with SEIU Local 521 on job <br /> description and salary range for this new classification. <br /> ALTERNATIVES <br /> 1. The Council could take no action and advise staff to continue using existing job <br /> classifications and salary ranges. <br /> 2.
