11/o5/ZOi2 <br /> Abilitv to: <br /> Understand data modeling, geo-coding, and spatial analysis. <br /> Create graphical and tabular output such as maps, charts, spreadsheets for use <br /> in project analysis, council presentations, public reference, etc. <br /> Design, develop and present training in the use of GIS. <br /> Perform the entire range of GIS duties, including project coordination, with a <br /> minimum of supervision. <br /> Identify and anticipate issues and GIS applications of use and importance to the <br /> C ity. <br /> Identify and interpret technical and numerical information. <br /> Prioritize and manage competing demands and projects in a timely manner. <br /> Effectively oversee the work of others. <br /> Communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. <br /> Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the <br /> course of work. <br /> Experience and Education: <br /> Any combination of experience and education that would likely provide the <br /> required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the <br /> knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> Experience: <br /> Two years of responsible experience utilizing geographic information <br /> systems, establishing and maintaining multiple parcel data layers and land <br /> information systems, applying associated software. <br /> Education: <br /> Equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's degree with major course work in <br /> GIS, Computer Science or related field, in addition to the completion of <br /> specialized training or specific software applications so as to be <br /> considered a technical support resource in the GIS field.
