A typical way to obtain the <br /> knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> Experience: <br /> Two years of responsible experience utilizing geographic information <br /> systems, establishing and maintaining multiple parcel data layers and land <br /> information systems, applying associated software. <br /> Education: <br /> Equivalent to completion of a Bachelor's degree with major course work in <br /> GIS, Computer Science or related field, in addition to the completion of <br /> specialized training or specific software applications so as to be <br /> considered a technical support resource in the GIS field.
