EXHIBIT "A"
SCOPE OF SERVICES AND TIME SCHEDULE
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The City of Redwood City is in need of a new storage tank and pump station at the California
Way Water Station. The new California Water Tank will provide operational, emergency, and fire
storage for the California Pressure Zone and indirectly to the Wilmington North and Easter Bowl
Pressure Zones. The tank will have two (2) inlet supply lines. The primary feed will be from a
new 12 -inch pipeline from the Lakeview Pump Station and a secondary supply will be from the
16 -inch High -Line fed by the Glenloch Pump Station. The tank outlet will gravity feed the
California Pressure Zone and will also provide the suction supply to the new California Pump
Station. The California Pump Station will replace an aging outdoor facility with a new pump
station enclosed in a building.
SCOPE OF SERVICES:
The California Water Tank and Pump Station Project shall consist of the following primary
elements:
• Design for a new water tank, exact size to be determined but will be within the 0.75 to
1.0 million gallon (mg) range. Tank shall be constructed of either steel, prestressed
concrete, or conventionally reinforced concrete.
• Design for anew water pump station to pump from the new California tank to the Easter
Cross or Easter Bowl zones.
• Design for anew pump station discharge pipeline from the new California Pump Station
to connect to existing pi ping adjacent to the Easter Bowl tank.
TASK 1 — PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Consultant shall provide overall proj ect management for the project. This task shall consist of
the following:
1. Provide project coordination, communication with the City, development of the
project work plan; preparing a project design schedule as well as monitoring and
updating that schedule; tracking and reporting job progress on a monthly basis.
2. Perform Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews of the design at each
project milestone.
3. Perform a constructability review at the 65% and 100% design milestones.
4. Consultant shall attend six (6) meetings; project kick-off meeting;
Preliminary Design review meeting (30%); 65% Design review meeting;
100% Final Design review meeting; pre-bid meeting; and pre -construction
meeting.
TASK 2 — SURVEYING AND SUPPLEMENTAL UTILITY RESEARCH
The City has completed the topographic base mapping for the project to include the proposed
tank and pump station site as well as the discharge pipeline alignment. The survey map and
digital files (in AutoCAD format) will be provided to the Consultant for review and use during
the project. Consultant shall perform utility research and review the City's provided utility
mapping and recommend modifications, if any. Consultant shall augment utility information
based on available record information from the City and private utility companies as well as
conduct a field visit to observe existing structures, trees, and topographic features and
evaluate their location on the existing map and make minor adjustments if needed based on
what is observable in the field. Consultant shall bring to the City's attention any significant
discrepancies in the survey map if and when identified.
ATTY/AGR/2012.170/DSA INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERING CORP
REV: 10-17-12 VR
