meeting shall be scheduled with City staff after review of the preliminary design study submittal. <br />The goal of the scheduled meeting shall be to arrive at consensus on the design elem ents and <br />layout prior to proceeding w ith the 65% Initial Design. <br />TASK 4 — INITIAL DESIGN (65% DESIGN SUBMITTAL) <br />Following preparation of the Preliminary Design, and with the City's approval, Consultant shall <br />proceed with the Initial Design and the preparation of the improvement plans and specifications. <br />Consultant assumes the work under this task shall consist of design of a circular steel tank with <br />a tiered retaining wall system; design of a concrete tank (whether circular prestressed or <br />conventionally reinforced rectangular) is addressed under a separate, optional work task. <br />Specific tasks shall consist of the following: <br />1. Consultant shall prepare for the sixty-five percent (65%) complete <br />construction drawings consisting of plan views, profiles, cross-sections, <br />construction notes, demolition plan, pipeline plan and profiles, detailing of <br />major components, construction notes, utility connection points, <br />specifications (CSI format) outline, construction cost estimates, <br />construction schedule, details, catalogue cuts and product literature for <br />major equipment, and engineering calculations. Prepare and submit draft <br />pump station and tank control strategy. <br />2. Consultant shall perform local SCADA system design and provide draft <br />local SCADA strategy/programming report which discusses PLC <br />programming requirements and responsibilities. <br />3. Consultant shall submit contract documents to California Department of <br />Public Health (CDPH) for review at the 65% review level and incorporate <br />comments to the 100% design submittal to pursue "permit to operate". <br />4. Consultant shall perform initial constructability review. <br />Five (5) sets of the sixty-five percent (65%) plans, specification outline, and Engineer's Estimate <br />shall be presented to the City for review. A marked set will be returned along with City staffs <br />comments and/or request for clarifications to Consultant for revision. One meeting shall be <br />scheduled with City staff after review of the 65% submittal prior to proceeding with the 100% <br />Final Design Submittal. <br />TASK 5 — FINAL DESIGN (100% DESIGN SUBMITTAL) <br />Consultant shall perform the final design task, as follows: <br />1. Incorporate 65% Design Submittal review comments. Prepare 100% <br />Design Submittal consisting of complete construction documents including <br />drawings, specifications and cost estimates. <br />2. The 100% Design Submittal shall consist of demolition plan, site grading <br />and piping plan, general and construction notes, connection details, <br />electrical details, structural details, technical specifications, and estimate <br />of construction costs. The design calculations shall consist of final <br />engineering calculations, miscellaneous technical data, maintenance <br />considerations and catalogue cuts for major equipment. <br />3. Submit final control strategy report and final (tested) SCADA/PLC program. <br />4. Perform final constructability review. <br />5. The 100% Design Submittal shall be ready for signature and submitted to <br />the City for review and approval. A marked set will be returned along with <br />staffs comments and/or request for clarifications for revision. <br />Consultant shall furnish one (1) set of full-size final plans and specifications for the project.
