Following the completion of the engineering analysis, a report will be prepared with Consultant's
conclusions and recommendations. The report will include the following items:
• Site plan showing exploratory boring locations
• Logs of exploratory borings, including depth to ground water, if encountered
• Laboratory test results
• A discussion of the findings and recommendations, including:
o Site conditions
o Subsurface conditions
o Potential for perched water during construction
o Geologic hazards and seismicity
o Site preparation and earthwork recommendations
o Foundation type and design recommendations
o Lateral earth pressures for retaining wall design
o Slope stability (two cases: long-term static and seismic)
o Flexible asphalt and rigid concrete pavement recommendations
Plan Review and Consultation
Attend project meetings or provide supplemental consultation on an as -needed basis, and review the
foundation, civil, and landscape plans for conformance with the recommendations in the geotechnical
report. The fee estimate assumes
approximately 20 hours of Project Engineer time.
Schedule:
Commencing upon receipt of written authorization:
• Week 1 and 2: Permitting, Mark Boring Locations, USA Notification
• Week 3: Field Exploration, File Review, Begin Laboratory Testing
• Week 4: Complete Laboratory Testing, Begin Engineering Analysis
• Week 5: Engineering Analysis, Report Preparation
• Week 6: Internal QA Review, Issue Report
Basis of Fee:
Services will be performed on a time and materials basis as shown in the Fee Estimate. If unforeseen
conditions are encountered, or if Consultant experiences delays or circumstances beyond our control,
Consultant will provide immediate notice to discuss modifications to the scope of services and/or
project fees. Additional services that are not outlined in this scope of services shall be charged on a
time -and -materials basis with the consent of the City Engineer.
Assumptions and Limitations:
• Available, prior site information including geotechnical reports, subsurface information,
grading information, test data, current design details such as tank construction type,
approximate structural loads, etc. will be provided for Consultant's review.
• If available, the site plans provided will show the locations of known underground utility lines
and structures. We will not be responsible for damage to any such lines or structures that are
not shown accurately on the plans orthat are not marked by USA subscriber companies.
• Utility operators/owners are required to mark their utilities at the ground surface prior to the
start of work. California law requires that Consultant receive notification that Consultant's
marked exploration locations have been cleared by each subscribing utility operator with
nearby facilities before Consultant proceeds with its exploration.
