w. �I <br /> � � � 8 � <br /> ♦ <br /> 2) The safety inspection of premises should include a representative <br /> of the Planning Department to eoordinate land use regulation with <br /> enforcement of safety regulations. <br /> 3) The City Attorney's Office should be requested to recommend prc�cedures <br /> for prompt, effective legal enforcement of code violations where <br /> normal notification procedures prove ineffective in achieving <br /> compliance. <br /> Eo Contingency Plans for Ma.ior Disasters or Emergencies <br /> 1) As recommended in the Seismic Safety Element, Redwood City safety <br /> services and other appropriate departments should review and update: <br /> a. The overall contingency plan <br /> b. The Fire, Police, and Public Works D�partment annexes to that <br /> plan. <br /> 2) Special emphasis should be placed on achieving coordination with <br /> the County Plan arid between the overall organization plan and its <br /> constituent annexes. <br /> 3) Standing agreements should be reached with other public and <br /> private agencies to furnish specified aid upon demand in the event <br /> of a ma.jor emergency. <br /> 4) The Redwood Gity Safety Services, the Manager's Office, and the <br /> � Public Works Department should conduct simulated emergency "games" <br /> to test plan effectiveness and keep personnel familiar with the <br /> plan. <br /> 5) The City should utilize management information system potentials <br /> for storage and retrieval of support data for emergency plans. <br /> 6) To achieve maximum benefitfrom contingency planning activities, <br /> the public should be kept currently informed, and local school <br /> districts' cooperation should be enlisted. <br /> Fo Mandatory Project Review <br /> 1) Consideration should be given to enactment of legislation <br /> requiring mandatory referral for review and co�ent, by Fire <br /> and Police Departments, on the safety aspects of: <br /> a. AI1 commercial and industrial projects on sites in excess <br /> of 20,000 square feet. <br /> d.
