i <br /> , � <br /> WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the District will be able to <br /> operate for its first year of existence entirely within the 4 . 3 <br /> million dollar allotment of funds derived from the California <br /> Transportation Development Act; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City concurs <br /> that there is a great need for a transit district to serve the <br /> citizens of the City of Redwood City and all San Mateo County <br /> citizens, and that the formation of the San Mateo County Transit <br /> District is the best practicable method of ineeting such requirsments; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> AS FOLLOWS : <br /> 1. That this Council hereby endorses San Mateo County <br /> Measure A, providing for the formation of the San Mateo County <br /> Transit District, in the election to be held on November 5, 1974 , <br /> and urges the citizens of the City of Redwood City, and all the <br /> electorate voting thereon, to vote favorably on said Measure A, <br /> 2. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed <br /> to transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of <br /> Supervisors of the County of San Mateo. <br /> * * * <br /> -2- <br /> I <br />
