to cover interest expense, corporate taxes, and profit. In <br /> this regard, Company shall maintain a complete and accurate <br /> system of accounts and records. <br /> <br /> "At least once each year and within two months after <br />completion of parent company's annual audit (Browning-Ferris <br />Industries, Inc.), Company shall provide to City financial <br />reports and such other documents as may be required by City <br />that will show in detail the net consolidated profit and loss <br />(exclusive of intercompany profits or duplication of revenues <br />and/or expense) for the furnishing of garbage collection and <br />disposal to City. This requirement for the submission of <br />financial reports and other documents to City may be satisfied <br />(if approved by City) by Company's providing to City statements <br />for providing basic services within Company's San Mateo County <br />General Service Area so long as special services provided to <br />one or more service areas within the General Service Area are <br />set out separately. Company shall make available to City for <br />examination all books, vouchers, records and working papers <br />used in the preparation of a particular annual audit. Such <br />documents shall be retained for a period of three years after <br />such preparation. <br /> <br /> "The rates to be charged for the services to be provided <br />pursuant to this agreement shall be adjusted upward or downward <br />on October 1st of each year to reflect changes in the cost of <br />operations as reflected by fluctuations in the San Francisco <br />Bay Area Revised Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners <br />and Clerical Workers (all items) and in the Consumer Price Index <br />for U.S. Cities (average)-Gasoline Index. The rates shall be <br />increased or decreased for the ensuing year in a percentage <br />amount equal to 90 percent of the net percentage change of the <br /> <br /> -2- <br /> <br /> <br />
