ORIGINAL <br /> <br /> SECOND AMENDMENT <br /> TO <br /> UNIFORM FRANCHISE AGREEI~ENT <br /> <br /> THIS SECOND AMENDMENT TO THE UNIFORM FRANCHISE <br />AGREEMENT, is made by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a <br />municipal corporation ("Agency"), and BROWNING-FERRIS INDUSTRIES OF <br />CALIFORNIA, INC., a California Corporation ("BFI"); <br /> <br /> WlTNESSETH: <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 1960, adopted October 12, 1987, <br />this Council approved and authorized the execution of a uniform franchise <br />agreement with BFI for solid waste collection services, effective as of October 1, <br />1987 (the "Master Franchise"); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. 2077, adopted April 11, 1994, <br />this Council approved and authorized the execution of a First Amendment <br />amending the Master Franchise effective April 26,1994; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Agency is a member of the South Bayside Transfer Station <br />Authority ("Authority"), a public agency established pursuant to the California <br />,~oint Exercise of Powers Authority Act (Gov[. C. §65~0 et seq.); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the Master Franchise by revising the <br />period during which notice must be given not to extend the term thereof to <br />accommodate activities of the Authority relating to proposals for substantive <br />revisions to the Master Franchise; <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br />Agrnt-106 1 <br />F:~shared~Redwood~Council <br />DES:djk <br />o8/15/97 <br /> <br /> <br />
