SOUTH BAYSIDE TRANSFER STATION AUTHORITY UNIFORM FRANCHISE AGREEMENT <br /> <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> <br /> FOR <br /> <br /> THE COLLECTION OF SOLID WASTE <br /> <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, effective as of October 1, 1987, by and <br />between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ("Agency"), a municipal <br />corporation of the State of California, and BROWNING-FERRIS <br />INDUSTRIES OF CALIFORNIA, INC., a California corporation <br />("Company"); <br /> <br /> WITNES SETH : <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Agency is a member agency of the South Bayside <br />Transfer Station Authority ("Authority"), a public entity formed <br />by agreement in 1981 under the California Joint Exercise of <br />Powers Act (Calif. Govt. C. ~§6500 et seq.); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Agency and the other member agencies of Authority <br />have granted to Company by separate agreements the right to <br />collect and remove solid waste generated within their respective <br />territories; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Authority has approved a uniform franchise <br />agreement for the Collection (hereinafter defined) of solid waste <br />in order to achieve efficiencies and economies in providing such <br />services to the residents of the respective jurisdictions of the <br />member agencies of Authority; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Agency and Company desire to replace their existinq <br />franchise agreement with this adaptation of the uniform agreement <br />approved by Authority without, however, changing or reducing the <br /> <br /> <br />
