Task 5 - Data Reportina
Flow monitoring shall measure the magnitude and components of flow that enter into the
wastewater collection system. Wastewater flow shall be reported as comprised of the following
components:
• Sanitary Flow (SF) —Sewage from residential, commercial, and industrial sources.
• Infiltration/Inflow(I/I)—Groundwater infiltration (GWI) and rainfall dependent
infiltration/inflow (RDI/I). GWI occurs when the groundwater table is above the sewer
pipe and there are openings in the pipe walls or joints. RDI/I enters the system from
direct connections to catch basins and through pipe and joints during and shortly after a
rain event.
Dry weather flow (DWF) periods contain only SF and GWI. Wet weather flow (WWF) periods
include RDI/I in addition to DWF. The relative percentage contributed by each component of
DWF and WWF will vary from one area to another and within a given area as social,
environmental, and physical conditions change over time.
Consultant shall report data, as requested by District. At the completion of the initial flow
monitoring period of ten (10) days, Consultant shall prepare a preliminary report compiling all
data collected after the first ten (10) days of installation. At the completion of the project
Consultant shall prepare a final draft report on all the data collected that season. If ineters are to
be installed at new sites the following year, Consultant shall prepare an additional ten (10) day
report and a final draft report.
Consultant shall present the flow data in the form of seven-day flow charts for each monitoring
station with summary tables of peak, average, and minimum flow, along with the associated
rainfall data. In addition, flow data and rainfall data shall be reported in hourly-averaged
intervals. Data reporting shall also include a base flow hydrograph and a RDI/I separation,
(rainfall dependent infiltration/inflow) (RDI/I). The RDI shall be determined by subtracting the wet
flow from the base flow. Groundwater infiltration (GWI) shall be determined by the average flow
in the wet weeks compared to the dry weeks. The quantity of RDI/I determined from the
subtraction shall be assumed to be the amount of rainfall that entered the sanitary sewer
system. This value shall be expressed as a return ratio, R, expressed as a percentage. The
value of R shall be used to measure how the sewer basin responds to a rainfall event.
Task 6 - Proiect Manaaement
Consultant's Project Manager shall manage project team efforts to achieve satisfactory
completion of the scope of services within budget and on schedule.
Consultant shall obtain the necessary permits whenever required for any of the tasks, maintain
a corporate Health and Safety and Confined Space Plan, and comply with the California
MUTCD manual in matters concerning traffic safety.
ConsultanYs Project Manager shall attend District meetings as required for completion of the
work.
ATTY/AGR/2012.187/E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc
11-21-12 VR
11
