EXHIBIT "A" <br /> <br /> Lakeview Reservoir- Final Design <br /> Scope of Work <br /> <br />PHASE I - PRELIMINARY DESIGN <br /> <br />Task 1 - Preliminary Engineering <br /> <br />BKF provided several design alternative concepts and assisted the City to reach a final decision <br />to construct a one million gallons steel tank. It is our conclusion that the steel tank option is the <br />best alternative for the Lakeview Reservoir. BKF will provide a short report presenting the <br />reasons that the !.0 MG steel tank option is the best option for the site. <br /> <br />The new steel tank will be constructed within the existing reservoir location after the timber roof <br />and concrete columns are removed. Since the existing reservoir has been in service for more <br />than 70 years, the foundation of the proposed steel tank area is well compacted due to the weight <br />of the reservoir water. The proposed steel tank foundation will need to be on well compacted <br />soil. Although the maximum water surface of the proposed steel tank will be 10 feet higher than <br />the existing reservoir water surface elevation, the differential settlement, if any, should be <br />negligible due to the uniform water surcharge for past 70 years. Geotechnical sub-surface <br />investigation may be necessary to verify this assumption. <br /> <br />Also, the proposed 1.0 MG steel tank will be constructed on the site of an existing 1.0 MG <br />reservoir. An environmental impact report may not be needed. BKF will assist the City to <br />complete the environmental checklist fo,re. We have assumed that the City will process any <br />necessary environmental documents. We have assumed that the City will take the lead on any <br />public meetings that may needed. BKF will have a representative available to attend any <br />meeting. If the City would like BKF to provide presentation materials or organize a meeting <br />these services could be provided for an additional cost. We have assumed that the City will <br />provide BKF with an electronic copy of the current specifications, general and special contract <br />condition package. <br /> <br />Deliverables: Letter report on alternative reservoir designs, Geotechnical report with foundation <br />recommendations, preliminary design layout for City review and approval. <br /> <br />PHASE II - CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENTS PREPARATION <br /> <br />The following outlines the design steps included in our scope of work: <br /> <br />Lakeview Reservoir 1 Final Design - Scope of Work <br /> <br /> <br />
