One soil boring will be drilled au each lo! (7 botinss). The borings will be'continuously cqred
using a portable, hydraulically-driven soil coting system (Env,~ro-Core). Upon completion of
drilling, a ~emporary well point will be placed in the borings to facilitate collection of
groundwater samples. Once the samples arc retrieved, the well points will be removed and the
boreholes will be backfflled with cement grout. The surface of the borings will be patched to match
existing conditions.

Our engineer will observe coring operations and prepare detailed logs of the 'borings. Drilling and
sampling equipment will be steam cleaned prior to each use to reduce the likelilmod of cross-
. contamination between borings, steam ct~.-anlug water, purge'water, and soil cuttings Will be
removed from thc ~ite by the drilling subcontractor.

An org~ic vapor meter (OVM) will be used to semen all ~-~ples obtained from the test borings.
Soil samples will be retained in bra~ sample liners. Teflon sheeting will be placed on the e~ds of
the liners prior to capping and placing in sealable bags. Water sampIes will be retained in containers
preclca~aed by the supplier. Upon se~llng and labeUn~, the ~oamples will be promptly refrigerated
on-site in an ice-filled chest Samples will remain iced until delivery to a CalifomiaDep~t~Uent of
Health Services (DIqS) certified laboratory. The samples will be accompanied by Chain-of-
.Custody records.

Task $ - Analytical Testhag

Soil and groundwater samples will be transmitted to Curtis & Tompkins, Ltd., a DHS certified
analytical laboratory, for analysis. For estimating purposes, SCI proposes analyzin.g 14 soft samples
and.4 water samples. The testing program will include the .following: ..

1. Total extract_able petroleurr~ hydr~bons, within diezel, kerosene and motor off
ranges (EPA 8015) 18 s~nples,
2. Lead (EPA. 6010/7000 series ), 14 samples,
3. Asbestos (polarized light microscopy), 4 samples,
4.. Vvl~e Oa'g~u~i~ (EPA 8240), 4 ~anplc~,
5. Sera'volatile Organ/cs (EPA 8270), 2 samples, and
Title 26 Meu~ts'(EPA 6010/7000), 4 samples.

The CIH wilt be respomiblc for obtaining and anal,v-zing buildi~ material samples.

2 ~f '3 pages
